Winchester is in the southeast corner of Ontario, in the provinces’ Stormont-Dundas and Glengarry county. It sits along the picturesque St. Lawrence River and residents and visitors are able to enjoy miles of waterfront, recreational trails and numerous other outdoor activities. Central to Ottawa and Montreal, Winchester also has a large francophone and aboriginal population. The entire area population is just over 111,000 (including Cornwall); Winchester township has a community population of over 3,300. Winchester is surrounded by some of the best farmland in Eastern Ontario. Thus, a large proportion of Winchester's client base is comprised of large and small farming operations. In addition to the large agricultural presence, Winchester is also home to a community hospital, the local office of Hydro One and a food processing plant owned and operated by Parmalat Canada.
