Biography

Mike Barclay is a partner at Baker Tilly REO with 25 years of experience helping his clients achieve their business goals.

Before joining Baker Tilly in 2008, Mike worked in private practice and at a Toronto accounting firm. Through this experience, Mike learned how to ask the right questions to understand his clients’ needs and to propose business solutions that clients didn’t realize an accountant could address.

Mike is recognized as an approachable problem-solver who can make complex ideas easy to understand, which has been an especially valuable asset to clients who operate family businesses. He has worked extensively on succession planning for family businesses, developing strategies to successfully transition companies from one generation to the next.

In addition to his CPA and CA designations, Mike earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, and he is a certified financial planner. When not working from Baker Tilly’s Winchester or Morrisburg offices, Mike can be found somewhere outdoors, testing his comfort zone rock-climbing, or standing rink side with his son’s hockey team.
