The Role:
Owing to our long history and reputation for first-class training and service, we have an impressive list of entrepreneurial clients that require a full range of tax services including but not limited to: planning for private enterprises; estate and other planning for wealthy families; public and private mergers, acquisitions and re-organizations; planning for foreign operations; U.S. tax; and, indirect taxes. Collins Barrow has a tax intensive practice, and most of our tax compliance work is carried out on our general practice teams. As such, our tax group primarily provides training and support with complex planning and technical tax issues.
As a tax manager, you will act as a technical resource to clients, partners and other staff; draft tax opinions and correspondence; develop plans for corporate reorganizations, cross border investments and estate plans and provide support on other complex client situations. You will also be involved with business development.

The Role:
As an articling student, you will join a general practice team and will participate in all aspects of client service including assurance, accounting and tax. At Collins Barrow Calgary you will have the opportunity to:
Your responsibilities may also include preparing working paper files; drafting and reviewing financial statements; preparing journal entries; preparing individual and corporate tax returns; and conducting research on professional and technical matters.
